ZAC POSEN
The Designer:
Fashion designer Zachary E. Posen was born on October 24, 1980, in New York, New York." Posen was a fashion fanatic from an early age, cutting up scraps of fabric as soon as he could wield scissors.
Posen attended the private St. Ann's School in Brooklyn and, while he was still a sophomore in high school, he interned with designer Nicole Miller. At 16, he enrolled in the Parsons School for Design pre-college program, and at 18 was accepted to Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design, in London. A leather gown he made as a student project was later acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum.

His big break in the fashion business came in 2000, when he made a gown for model Naomi Campbell, an acquaintance of his childhood friend and muse, Lola Schnabel.

The Collection:
Showcased on the 8th September 2014 - New York
For Spring/Summer 15 Zac Posen presented a collection of stunning evening gowns! He decided to stay away from floral prints, sticking only to bright colours – with the focus of the classic red, white and, of course, black.
When combined with luxurious, traditional silhouettes he paid special attention volume and texture of the fabric. Beautiful, classic meets modern.

The Look:
The makeup look was flawless finish skin, accentuated with only a little colour to the eyes and cheeks with the focus being a strong matt red lip. Odile created a wet-look hair, keeping it swept back and off the face - meaning the hair didn't distract from the clothes and as she says 'it's not about the hair it's about the collection'.

Foundation finish will vary per person but a lightweight look is key; top cheeks with a light rose blush and add a creamy gold shadow to lids with a light coat of mascara. Kabuki used MAC’s Lipmix backstage. MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Cherry (for definition) and
MAC Cosmetics Pro Lipmix in Red (to fill).
The wet-look hair was created using Kerastase forme fatale blow dry gel.

My Thoughts:
This look reminds me of a Bond girl, the idea was for the hair to look as though she had just stepped out of the ocean and I think it's perfect for the collection. I am not sure how comfortable I would feel walking around with this look as I'd probably end up looking as though I hadn't washed my hair for a week! I have tried out this makeup look and although its very different to what I would usually wear, I did like it - and one has to embrace change from time to time! The clothes are gorgeous - I'd wear most of them in a minute - just give me somewhere to go!
