GUCCI GIRLS AW/14

The Campaign:

Designer Frida Gianinni chose seven top models, Natasha Poly, Suvi, Joan Smalls, Anja Rubik, Karmen Pedaru, Raquel Zimmerman, Nadja Bender to star in the 2014-15 advertisement campaign by Gucci.

In the photos, models wear pieces of clothing with a 60s mood. Double-breasted coats, leather A-dresses, luxury python leather boots and precious bags all come in pastel colours that perfectly match the backdrop.

Despite the 60s vibes, Gucci's signature equestrian theme is still at the forefront, with a snake skin twist on riding boots plus Gucci's new take on the retro satchel featuring a horse bit inspired buckle.

The advertisement has been shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott with Riccardo Ruini as Art Director.

"With this campaign, I wanted to create modern, evocative portraits that epitomize the essence of the Gucci woman individual, strong, sensual, and glamorous," explained  Frida.

Orlando Pit a has created a very feminine light tousled wave that looks free from product - like you could run your fingers through it.

The Makeup Artist has used a lovely pastel palette in keeping with the collection. The look is soft and light with well blended contouring on flawless skin. Shadows have been used around the eyes but there are no hard lines and this make-up look is not very 60s inspired - except the lips which have been kept nude with pinky tones.

Thoughts:

The makeup in this campaign reminds me a bit of the Burberry AW/14 Catwalk look with soft tones defining the eye and a strong brow shape. This is how women would love to wake up naturally and we are almost led to believe these women have! The statement is I am naturally beautiful and all I have to do is get dressed in Gucci in the morning before heading out for a latte. Of course this look is helped along quite a bit by the models but I actually think it would suit most people as a nice soft day look.
