MARC JACOBS
The Designer:
Marc Jacobs was born April 9, 1963 in New York City. Marc's life was completely altered following the death of his father at the age of 7. He would eventually move in with his grandmother and that made all the difference. Marc entered the Parsons School of Design and later a position at Perry Ellis. Jacobs started his own label and continued to impress the fashion world.
Marc Jacobs is best known for his fashion design with Louis Vuitton and his own label.
The Collection:
Set in an enormous warehouse on the Hudson, this show opened to Jeffrey Lewis's What Would Pussy Riot Do? The Concept was Teen rebellion/the 1980s/grunge – which translated into a pleasing mash up of satin varsity jackets, flat-front boyish trousers, sequin jumpsuits and Converse-style trainers in white ponyskin.

The Look:
Backstage at Marc Jacob‘s SS2014 New York runway show, lead artist Dick Page and François Nars created two bold beauty looks to try this spring, both featuring a swish of blue on the eyes. “This is a summer look that’s all about the eye. Most of the girls have a teal blue line, but some have royal blue, extending past both the inner and outer corner. The skin is very transparent for a flushed look.” said François Nars.

Teal Blue Look:
To shake things up, Nars mixed in the blue shade “Teal” and used the Kalisté Eyeliner Pencil. “In order to achieve beautifully defined lashes, both looks used: Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara.” Face: The models’ flushed and natural looking complexion was achieved with Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30, Radiant Creamy Concealer, Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder and completed with Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder.
Royal Blue Look:
Citing no inspiration, he and Marc just 'quite liked the shade', make-up artist Dick Page washed Shiseido Shimmering Cream Shadow in Ice Blue across the lid and stippled an electric blue powder shadow (Curacao from the Eye Colour Bar Palette) over the top to create a halo of colour around the eye.
For hair:
Simply blow hair straight, add a bend by placing the tong over, and then douse with Redken Full Force 23 spray for a rock 'n' roll take on beach hair.
Thoughts:
I am a big fan of blue! I really like this look and it works brilliantly with the collection. I have tried the liner look a few times and it's one that really draws attention but doesn't look overbearing. You can get away with a strong line in blue day or night. I would probably add a touch of warmth to the lips, a coral or orange lip gloss would make this look less ice maiden and more wearable day to day. I am not sure about a full blue eyeshadow but it might be a nice change from a smokey eye on a night out - it looks great on the models but might not work for everybody. Always a fan of beach hair, it's generally what my hair does naturally and I am all for easy styling :) Researching this show has made me an even bigger fan of Marc Jacobs!References:
