Biography:

Known for constantly pushing the envelope with his innovative styling and persistent re-invention of how beauty should be perceived, Vogue regular Neil Moodie has climbed to the top of the hairstyling arena to become one of the industry's most applauded and well loved names.

Neil began hairdressing in 1984 and debuted into the world of editorial styling in 1993, working with renowned photographer Corinne day on an editorial for The Face magazine. This lead to a quick succession of bookings, the first being for Italian Vogue followed by his first ever advertising campaign for Miu Miu. Today Neil works with some of the most successful and talented personalities in the fashion industry.

His experimentation with various textures and trade mark style of mixing contemporary, graphic elements with classic fundamentals has kept him in high demand ever since.

With 30 years’ experience, Neil Moodie is one of the most powerful men in the industry and also one of the most trusted, with a natural ability to put people at ease. On the latest Burberry campaign, he used his invisible cutting technique on supermodels Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell and Jourdan Dunn to create the much-coveted, luxe-looking, tousled hair. 

Neil on Burberry: “The Burberry catwalk hair has turned into a huge phenomenon. It’s the cut everyone wants. It looks like it’s just long hair but there’s a lot of trickery involved. I cut invisible layers into the models’ hair for the campaign shots which give it movement and texture. The front is a little shorter – ‘fallen graduation’ in hair-cutting terms. It creates layers around the face which lift the features making them more alive. It’s so desirable because of the simplicity – unassuming yet so sexy.”

I love the looks that Neil creates, they look effortless yet they have been carefully crafted. Women all over the world aspire to this style of hair, it's understated and looks naturally beautiful. Neil's career has spanned decades because of his talent with hair but also with people - someone I would love to work with! ... One day!
