TANYA TAYLOR

The Designer:

Tanya Taylor grew up in a family that was very experimental with fashion. Her dad would travel all over the world and bring back fabrics. 

She studied finance at McGill University, took an introductory design course at Central Saint Martins in London and then later went on to attend the Parsons School of Design. 

Taylor is now designing her own namesake women’s line, and she explains that she likes “the idea of starting with basics and building them into head-to-toe mismatched looks.” Her pleated swing dresses, butternut-yellow flouncy skirts, floral trousers.

The Look:

“The Tanya Taylor woman is always crisp, fresh and bold. She loves a surprise and appreciates the unexpected. Her make-up mirrors that expression again this season with classically radiant and highlighted skin combined with a shockingly bright orange-red lip." Allen created a neat centre parting with loose over-the-shoulder plaits.

Tinted moisturiser has been used to create luminosity around the eyes and cheeks, if you prefer a better coverage you could use Mac Face and Body as it still leaves the skin looking fresh and dewy. Nars Satin Lip Pencil was used to create the bold orange lip.

Thoughts:

I think this look works brilliantly with the collection. I have never actually tried an orange lip, instead favouring coral red if I am going for a bold colour. I am not sure this look would suit everybody. I really do like the hair - it's a sweet look. I am going to try to recreate this look for our end of term assessment!
